(The following is an open letter sent to former President of the USA, Donald Trump, on the day of the attempt to assassinate him in Pennsylvania July 2024. I felt the encouragement of the Lord to post this, something I would not normally do, perhaps to encourage or convict others as to the future that could await the USA, mostly just to pray. As always, for your prayerful consideration in Jesus Christ).

Dear Mr. President
Firstly, let me say I am thankful that the Lord Jesus Christ spared your life today in this miracle of Pennsylvania, and I pray that you would find full recovery from this traumatic event, and healing come both deeply, and you would find some time for rest with family in amongst your busy schedule.
You do indeed now stand on the precipice of a nation defining moment. It is no mistake or coincidence that God chose to spare your life in Pennsylvania at this time. For this state has been used by Him to set the course of your great nation more than once. And now, He has placed you in such a position. For if that shot had found its intended mark, you would have been dead, and so to the union of the United States. For the boiling pot would have tipped over, and civil unrest most surely ensued. The state where the bloodiest battle of the Civil War occurred, at Gettysburg, reminds us so.
However, thankfully it did not. From this place, William Penn ushered in the hope of the union of states, and this state was key to the forming of the USA built on Christian principles. From here the Abraham Lincoln spoke perhaps one of the most defining speeches in the history of the United States, with the rallying call ‘that these dead shall not have died in vain — that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom — and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.’
And so I encourage you to grasp this moment, and to call the nation once again to a place of unity under God, to place a lid on the boiling pot, turn down the heat, and in so doing define your second term of office as the Peacemaker, and not just here but abroad. And so take your place of statesmanship on the global stage. For your nation is not just blessed for itself, but for the nations, and as you hold the shield of faith over the nations, God will indeed continue to bless America.
