“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30)
As I have heard it said…
“There are seasons of rest, and in Christ true rest”
In Christ we are the House of God, an in this place we have rest”
“In the place of rest is His presence fully felt”
There is such a profound truth to be fully embraced, as revealed in Hebrews (and other areas of the Bible), in Christ we are the House of God, and in this place we have the deepest rest that goes beyond all circumstance. Consider these verses from that book of the Bible.
Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, Christ Jesus, 2 who was faithful to Him who appointed Him, as Moses also was faithful in all His house. 3 For this One has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as He who built the house has more honor than the house. 4 For every house is built by someone, but He who built all things is God. 5 And Moses indeed was faithful in all His house as a servant, for a testimony of those things which would be spoken afterward, 6 but Christ as a Son over His own house, whose house we are if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm to the end.
Note: In the realm of the Kingdom of God, in the New Covenant, we see the vital challenge to value more highly, and be faithful to Christ the Building of the House of God. Key to this in the revelation that we are the House of God as seen by Christ, and the need to grow ourselves through Jesus, which will in turn grown the House of God.
(Hebrews 3:14; 4:2, 3a, 9,10)
14 For we have become partakers of Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end……2 For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not profit them,[a] not being mixed with faith in those who heard it. 3 For we who have believed do enter that rest,…..9 There remains therefore a rest for the people of God. 10 For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His….
This rest is a most powerful force of God, we need to re-discover it for the season of war that the world is in…and it will transform us and our regions.
