Divine balance

Grace, such undeserved favour, seems so sweet, while truth can sting like a bee, and yet both are so necessary in life. This is divine balance.

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

John bore witness of Him and cried out, saying, “This was He of whom I said, He who comes after me is preferred before me, for He was before me.’ ”

And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

(John 1:14-17)

Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne; Mercy and truth go before Your face.

(Psalms 89:14)

“I will betroth you to Me forever; Yes, I will betroth you to Me in righteousness and justice, in lovingkindness and mercy; I will betroth you to Me in faithfulness, and you shall know the Lord.

(Hosea 2:19-20)

Therefore the Lord will wait, that He may be gracious to you; And therefore He will be exalted, that He may have mercy on you. For the Lord is a God of justice; Blessed are all those who wait for Him.

(Isaiah 30:18)
