Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ (Phil. 3:8)
These famous words of the Apostle Paul point to what some may know is the greatest truth of God’s mission, to once again have the one(s) made in His image walk with and know Him intimately as friend, son, and brother. Adam did indeed walk with God, but His sin caused God to lose this joy, and ever since His yearning is again to have such a relationship with Him. One so close that He is in fact one with us. As Enoch (Gen. 5:24), and Noah (Gen. 6:9) revealed there is a place of walking with Him such that you escape the flood, and in fact become His agent of salvation, or indeed slip through the heavenly veil and join in our eternal home. God’s desire to bring us back to Him caused His Son, Jesus, to pave the way for us to be able to enter back in to His presence, and also become the new man need to be able to sustain an eternal walk with Him, as we become one with Him. All available through faith and love
Yet so many seem content with just having a relationship with God, and not walk in fellowship with Him…but that is our high calling…. To know Him intimately. Many seem content to enter His house, and yet not truly abide with Him. Rather they get excited about the blessings that come from being in His presence, and the House of God (Bethel), but stop short of seeing Him face to face, and thus not join with Jacob as he journeyed from Bethel House of God) to Penuel (Face to face with God). The journey is one of faith, struggle, clinging in suffering to Him, talking, walking, even in the cool of the evening, with our Lord and Saviour, all the while refining us to be ones who truly know Him and become His house, and one with Him. So let us not settle just for being in His house, or even enjoy the blessing coming in His presence, rather now your heart and pursue Him, wait on Him, obey Him, listen for Him, seek Him, be refined, for only then are you truly becoming like the one who knows Him…and prepared for His return. This is how the bride is prepared for His return.
Come up again to His new upper room, His bed chamber, where we wait on Him in worship and love, with know agendas other than to walk with Him, and His children.
