To know God is to be intimate with His power, His word, His love, and His Spirit

Do we really know God’s written word (the Bible), His power…Him? Consider this statement from the Lord Jesus Christ.‘Jesus answered and said to them, “You are mistaken [deceived, in error], not knowing [having wide-eye wonder of, awestruck, experienced, intimate with, considered and told, see, perceived, discerned clearly] the Scripture nor the power [dunamis, dynamite like, miracle working, powerful, mighty way, strength, violence, working, force] of God in heaven.’
(Matthew 22:29 NKJV with expounded key words based on original Greek and background Hebrew words).

To know Christ, and His ways, we need to know His word and His power….in this way. Knowing God, is knowing His way, out of relationship, intimate with the Father’s way, which is supernatural, powerful, loving, reflected in Scripture, and all by the Holy Spirit dwelling in and on us.

Without the Holy Spirit you can neither truly preach the gospel of Christ and God’s kingdom, or have words of life. Thus we are exhorted in Scripture to ‘Be filled with the Holy Spirit.’ Walking in relationship and intimacy with the Holy Spirit is key to our life in God, and in the ministry of His gospel. The good news of Christ is to be preached by the power and unction of the Spirit of God, by faith, and most of all out of love. In sharing the story and message (testimony) of Christ, you bring life.

The testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy (Revelations 19:10), so we should expect to see the sharing of His gospel accompanied by prophetic words, and so it is expected that all should prophecy. So we dare not quench the Spirit, or inhibit prophecy, if we desire to preach the gospel of the Kingdom of God, which is powerful to save mankind.

1 Peter 1:10-12

Of this salvation the prophets have inquired and searched carefully, who prophesied of the grace that would come to you, searching what, or what manner of time, the Spirit of Christ who was in them was indicating when He testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ and the glories that would follow. To them it was revealed that, not to themselves, but to us they were ministering the things which now have been reported to you through those who have preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven—things which angels desire to look into.

2 Corinthians 3:15-17

knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.

Romans 15:19-20

in mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God, so that from Jerusalem and round about to Illyricum I have fully preached the gospel of Christ. And so I have made it my aim to preach the gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I should build on another man’s foundation,

2 Timothy 3:16-17

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
