Consummation

Ever noticed just how similar the sun and light looks at sunrise and sunset? I guess if you if you woke from a deep slumber, and looked to the sky, without a time piece and a sense of direction you could easily confuse the two bookends of the day.

And yet, sunset is much more different from sunrise, and does signal the end of a chapter. So too it is for many of us now. One chapter comes to an end, and a new one is starting. The Lord God seems to be saying we are entering a time of consummation, while often linked to a wedding, it also means ‘the point at which something is complete or finalized.‘ Like the wedding version though, this can be a very good thing!

Let us perceive the season we are in as 2020 unfolds, for the consummation of promises and the season that we were is upon us, where the trials of our last chapter will make sense as the Lord ushers in to our lives a new day. Patience and hard fought perseverance will see justice’s reward.

I have seen the consummation of all perfection,

But Your commandment is exceedingly broad.

(Psalms 119:96)

The Mighty One, God the Lord, has spoken and called the earth from the rising of the sun to its going down. Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God will shine forth.

Our God shall come, and shall not keep silent;

A fire shall devour before Him, and it shall be very tempestuous all around Him. He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that He may judge His people: “Gather My saints together to Me, those who have made a covenant with Me by sacrifice.” Let the heavens declare His righteousness, for God Himself is Judge.

Selah

(Psalms 50:1-6)
