A king who sits on the throne of judgment scatters all evil with his eyes.
Proverbs 20:8
At a news conference in Kabul last week (August 17, 2021), Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid made the case that today’s Taliban was no longer the group the world remembers from the last time it came to power nationally. “Nobody will be harmed in Afghanistan,” he said. “Of course, there is a huge difference between us now and 20 years ago.” ………
At the news conference Tuesday, Taliban spokesman Mujahid sought to assure residents of Kabul of “full security, for protection of their dignity and security and safety.”… “The Islamic Emirate doesn’t want women to be victims,” said Enamullah Samangani, a member of Taliban’s cultural commission. He said the group was ready to “provide women with environment to work and study, and the presence of women in different (government) structures,” the Associated Press reported.
As the nations left Afghanistan, it was of no surprise to the Lord that the Taliban would come in like a flood, for those allies did not build a rear guard, nor the soul of the nation. But God, will raise up a standard by His Spirit, and the armies of the Lord will gather to it.
Christ Jesus, the King of kings, does sit on the throne of judgement, and says to His saints and the people of Afghanistan, “that He watches over the words of the Taliban to see if they will perform them, for He will hold them accountable for the words spoken. He sees in the secret place, and hears the words spoken in silence.”
For God will bring every work into judgment, including every secret thing, whether good or evil.
Ecclesiastes 12:14
The Lord Jesus sees the anguish of the hearts of the people, for many years they have known war, and the pain of separation and appraisal. He calls to the Taliban and says, “as much as you rule with fear, so you will be ruled by fear. As much as you give mercy, so you will know mercy.” The souls of His people will know divine eternity, but the heart of anger and darkness will only know anguish and fire.
Almighty God will execute righteousness and justice for all oppressed, and will show mercy towards those who fear Him. As a father pities his children, so the Lord pities those who fear Him. His standard will be raised up in Afghanistan, and His army will harken to it. And great will be His victory. Who is this standard? None other that the ‘Branch of the Lord’, and He will be raised up in the hearts of Afghanistan, yes, in the heart of Afghanistan He will arise in righteousness.
To the nations who abandoned the people, and did not seek to save the soul of that nation, the Lord will also hold them accountable, and a thorn it will become to them. To the Taliban, He too gives you a thorn that cannot be quenched, and if mercy you do not give, know that thorn shall grow. He says to all, seek the Lord Jesus Christ, cry out for His forgiveness, for He is knows your frame is made of dust, and is quick to forgive.
The LORD executes righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed. He made known His ways to Moses, His acts to the children of Israel. The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in mercy. He will not always strive with us, nor will He keep His anger forever.
He has not dealt with us according to our sins, nor punished us according to our iniquities. For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is His mercy toward those who fear Him; As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us. As a father pities his children, so the LORD pities those who fear Him. For He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust. (Psalms 103:6-14)
